In the intro, 0:00 to 0:09, the lead singer says "Don't believe the hype." which appeals to their audience as it shows their authenticity and personal passion for music. Throughout the music video, it's just the band performing and has no narration which is not typical for a music video which allows the audience to feel a strong connection as it shows their raw, authentic talent.

They shared the music on p2p websites meaning more people could listen to it.

They want fans to think that their passion for music is genuine and they are an authentic, "real" band.

When Arctic Monkeys formed they were all previously friends from university. On the other hand, BLACKPINK were a manufactured girl group under YG Entertainment.

They signed to Dominio Records which is an independent record label as it gave them more creativity in their music.
