POINT This clip emphasises to the audience that the movie is action-based. EVIDENCE This is shown in CLAMPS. The costumes are shown to be high-tech, which tells the audience that the film involves a lot of action and is futuristic. The actors are seen to be concerned which urges to audience to watch the film as it creates suspense in the movie and makes the audience more curious about what happens. Make-up and hair are made to be very messy but at times sophisticated to show a contrast to daily life and fights. This connotes to the audience that this involves fighting again. The props used are fancy cars and high-tech suits and the setting is set in a city. This tells us this is in modern-day life and somewhere more developed this then contrasts with our society which makes the audience more interested as it is something we are not used to. The lighting is mixed with lowkey lighting and high key, this tells us there may be a war or a fight.
Red Dead Redemption
POINT This clip tells us this game is about outlaws and about USA laws. EVIDENCE This is shown in CLAMPS. The costumes they wear are very rugged and old-fashioned. This connotes to the audience that the game is set in a wild environment and shows adventure. The lighting is mixed with lowkey and high-key lighting however the tones are mainly warm and colourful. This tells the audience the game is based on the natural environment and can also connote a group or the aspect of care. The characters are seen to be fierce, this tells us there may be something they are fighting for or surviving against. The hair is shown as messy, which tells the audience that this game is based on an adventure. The props used (guns, etc.) connote to the audience that this may be action and fight-related like wars and fights. The setting is seen to be in a vintage town, this can connote to us that this is set in the past which contrasts with modern-day society which can make the audience more interested.
Stranger Things
POINT This clip connotes to the audience that this show is set in the past. EVIDENCE This is shown in CLAMPS. The costume they are all wearing is very 90s fashion and the hair is shown to be very voluminous and longer hair for males. This tells the audience that the show is set in the past. This is again shown in the props. For example, we can see they have very old bikes and use radios. The actors look worried but this contrasted with the background (suburban, peaceful neighbourhood) can tell the audience that these kids are in trouble and puts an off-putting sign. No makeup to light makeup is used to show a youthful look, this shows a difference between the problem and the characters. The producers use this to juxtapose the plot and the characters. This could make the audience sympathise with the characters.
Nike Advert
POINT This advert shows how Nike helps different lives in a normal society. EVIDENCE This is shown in CLAMPS. The costumes are very sporty but include different sports and the hair is also different for each scenario. This tells the audience that Nike is inclusive to all scenarios, sports and daily life. The setting is in London which tells the audience Nike is developed for a busy space. This lighting used is high-key mixed with lowkey to drag the audience's attention towards the advert by using bright, colourful lighting with lowkey lighting. The actors are seen to be complaining but also to be seen as hard-working, this is so Nike is seen to help others in a community which convinces the audience about the range and inclusivity of the brand. The props used included sports equipment to show that Nike is durable and made for sports and daily life. This shows they want to make the impression that the brand supports others and for what they do.
